A Story About Everyone August 13, 2010 Jennifer 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Five stars. I don't think you can give it any less than that.
I think what makes this album so great is that it is a piece of music that everyone can relate to in some way, shape or form. Such as, most of us have been treated badly and unfairly in school by a teacher, therefore I think most, if not, all of us, can relate to "Another Brick in The Wall, part 2" I, myself, can definantly relate to "Mother." I think the message that this album sends out is that we will all have trials and bad things happen to us, but the best thing to do is to face up to them, or to talk to somebody about how you feel about them. Most of the time we ignore these trials and rpetend they aren't happening and act like they aren't there, and in the process, building up a Wall which keeps growing and growing until we finally face our fears and "tear down the wall." Hey, who says stories with morals can't rock?
This, without a doubt, is the most moving piece of music the band has ever done. It may have been a turbulent process and may have caused many band fights to break out. (All Floyd veterans know that it was during this album's recording process that Rick was fired from the group by Waters.) But, I think in the end, it was all worth it. Forget "Dark Side of The Moon", this is worlds better!
If you are just discovering the band and want to try out some of their music, don't go for "Dark Side of The Moon" That's what all new fans go straight for. (Myself included, so don't feel guilty.) Go for something more edgy and thought-provoking.
Go for "The Wall!"
No! Don't sit on that.... August 10, 2010 Brian 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
The case was cracked when I received it. However, what can I expect for something that I bought for half of what the stores charge for it? Loves me some Floyd, so I'm not complaining too much.
