what more can I say, except that I've loved Derek's work for over 15 years. Truly a high priest of improvisational music. Hard to pigeonhole, he breaks the chains of categories. Go see him live, and feel the power!
too bad I couldn't find this on the shelf at Best Buy. so I'm ordering it here.

Had the album for awhile before I really got into it. Have enjoyed Derek Trucks Band from the first time I heard them. I enjoy the variety of influences. Trucks could have chosen to stick to his Alman Brothers roots and I probably would have bought his albums anyway. One of my favorite guitarists. Agree that vocalist isn't one of my favorites but I have learned to appreciate what he brings to the album.

Outstanding! I have been a long time Derek Trucks Band fan and it just doesn't get any better than this. I have seen DTB play live several times (this is a treat you need to experience) and have also seen the Soul Stew Revival play. With my very first CD I bought of DTB over 12 years ago.....I knew then that this would become one of my more favorite bands. I like all of the music that the Derek Trucks Band play, but this has to be one of my favorites. It really has something for just about everybody!! I am not a music critic as an occupation, but I have a fairly extensive collection/variety of music (think Frank Sinatra to Linkin Park) and Derek Trucks and Band are great musicians!! If you get a chance to hear Derk talk about his music, you will find out that many artists and styles of music have influenced what he plays. The more that I listen to this CD the better it gets. He has such a great group of musicians to work with and it makes what he does all the better.
