| Customer Reviews: Great Music, overproduced May 21, 2010 Singlemalt (Tokyo, Japan) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Jim Suhler and Monkey Beat have made a very serviceable CD. Great music, great musicianship. However, this CD suffers from overproduction. The should have stuck with a more raw, 'miked' sound, which would have been more suitable for this music - grittier production values along the lines of "On the Jimmy Reed Highway" by Omar Kent Dykes and Jimmie Vaughan.
!!WOW!! My New Favorite CD April 23, 2010 P.H. Untill a week ago I never heard of these guys. I was buying some Sadies cds when this popped up as a recomended. I've had mixed sucess buying on recomendations but I couldn't resist the cover art. Boy, am I glad I did! This MORE than makes up for the misses. I thought I knew pretty much all the blues-rockers out there but I sure missed this one. If you like the OLD ZZ TOP (pre Eliminator) buy this cd yesterday. There is over 71 minutes and 16 songs and not a bad/weak one. As far as i'm concerened this is as good or better than the stuff the better known artists of this genre are putting out. I've already ordered all the other cds these guys have and if they are HALF as good as this one i'll consider it money well spent.
Jim Suhler is a killer blues rocker. April 18, 2010 Gary R. Parker (Hardyston, NJ) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm a professional guitar player, so I know a little bit about musicianship.
I discovered this album accidentally, here on Amazon, gave it a listen and was hooked instantly.
Great tunes, great musicianship. Definitely recommended.
Jim Suhler & Monkey Beat April 3, 2010 Gduck Geo (Polk City IA USA) Excellent. It's just too Bad that this Album isn't being played more and don't let the name fool you. There's some really good musicans playing on this album. People like Joe Bonamassa & Elvin Bishop. Go out and get this music and just enjoy.

This cd is not your typical release where every song sounds the same. It's varied and very enjoyable. I highly recomend it.
