| Customer Reviews: Great Sounding Metal Lacking Depth August 5, 2010 Leftystrikesback 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
5FDP has an amazing sound and the amazing vocal talent of lead singer Ivan Moody makes them stand out in a crowd of contenders.
This album keeps the in-your-face sound and brutal pace of Way of the Fist and adds some complexity to the mix. However they still suffer from shallow lyrics that sound good on the surface but pass right through the ears.
It may be too much to ask, but if 5FDP's lyrics had as much impact as their music, they would seal their spot as one of the top metal bands in history.
Great album July 12, 2010 J&K-Rock&Roll One of the best albums that i have ffdp will be around for a long time
FFDP: War Is the Answer May 30, 2010 C. Bach (ILSTU) I'm actually having trouble getting started. I was hooked with the first run-through; every element of the sound: vocals, instruments, lyrics--really had me actually thinking about meaning behind the messages of the songs. This stands out from metalcore albums everywhere, for me running alongside Luna Mortis and Straight Line Stitch, because it, like the others, has maturity, and has solid elements of strength and presence that many of these younger-sounding bands have. An angry dog lives longer than a thunder storm, but is less remembered. Now hopefully these guys aren't as quick to pass as a storm, but they certainly are far more impressive than "an angry dog".
Fantastic April 20, 2010 Ciero (Michigan) I have a hard time coming up with a song on this album that I don't like.
Great CD February 25, 2010 Clay L. Hazam (PA) 5FDP's new cd is very well done. The heavy songs are great, the soft songs are great, and their cover of Bad Company is very well done. I only wish it didn't have as many soft songs, and they stayed closer to songs like Ashes and Way of the Fist instead of the Bleeding.
