| Customer Reviews: Train - Save me San Francusco September 2, 2010 J. C. Phare (Harlingen, TX USA) I may have been late in catching THIS train but I now love this group and this album is a winner for sure. Just love it !!
Save me from this release August 25, 2010 McBowlerpimp (W. Syracuse, NE) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
What in the name of former Wide World of Sports bowling commentator Chris Schenkel has happened to Train? I really liked this band when they arrived on the scene. Their sound was very original and interesting. I could even live with the "Drops of Jupiter" stage. The song was crucified on radio, but it and the rest of the album were good.
Fast forward to today. It's as if Train said, "Jason Mraz made a horrid, catchy song stay on the radio for 2.5 hours each day, let's one up and record two cheesy dittys that will annoy the stew out music fans" The result is this thing. The two radio releases are so ridiculously bland lyrically it's as if Matchbox 20 was a paid consultant on this project. I've fronted Asschowder for years now and we've stayed ahead of the train, not lagged behind it. If someone puts out something groundbreaking, it's most likely already been done by us. While I'm writing anthems about Bill Cosby's relationship with the Jello Corporation, Train is writing a pile of velveeta to a catchy summer beat.
I think this group really needs to talk to Burns before their next project. He revolutionized the keyboard like Nelson revolutionized blond twin brother singing duos. He just needs to sit down and smack them with reality. You can sell millions of albums and question your originality or you can write keyboard anthems about manhole covers and be true to yourself.
Which will it be Train? Right now, average has opened up a 35 point lead on you.
Good but not Great August 24, 2010 Marc Paniccia The first 3 songs are really good. Then the flow of the album dies after that. Many of the songs start sounding the same, at least in tempo. I'm looking forward to the day when Train puts out a greatest hits, it will be their first FULL great albumn. They seem to nail 1 or 2 songs on every release.
"I Got You" August 22, 2010 M.
